Singapore

15 July

We left the UK on the 15th of July for Singapore. We had a quick stopover at Hamad International Airport in Doha.

16 July

Arrived in Singapore on the 16 of July. Photos and a video of the famous waterfall at Jewel Changi Airport.

Initial impressions of Singapore are that it is ridiculously humid and there’s a lot of buildings with plants on them.

Mostly walked around the rest of the day. Photos of the famous Merlion at night.

17 July

More strolling around Singapore. Photos of the colourful facade of the Sri Mariamman Hindu temple.

Photos of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

More buildings with plants on them.

Lots of colourful historical shophouses.

Had a Singapore sling at the famous Raffles Hotel.

View towards the CBD from Bras Basah Road.

Finished the day off at Gardens by the Bay.

The famous Marina Bay Sands.

18 July

Visited Hell’s Museum at Haw Par Villa. It was built by Aw Boon Haw, the same person who created Tiger balm. Scary place.

Went for dinner at Satay Street at the famous Lau Pau Sat hawker centre.

19 July

Went to the Botanic Gardens in the morning, before it got too hot. Saw a couple of very big monitor lizards. They can climb trees, which is a terrifying thought.

Singapore is celebrating it’s 60th birthday in August. In the evening they had a big firework show as part of ongoing rehearsals.

20 July

Our final full day in Singapore, before flying to Lombok.
